Under each heading is entered a number which is your district number for that particular policy-maker. We will address the following areas:

CONG – this designates your congressional district. This is the person who represents you in Washington D.C. and deals with federal legislation. For instance, there are 11 Congressional districts in Georgia; your Congresspersons are:
Barr, Bob , 7th
Bishop Jr., Sanford D. , 2nd
Chambliss, Saxby , 8th
Collins, Mac , 3rd
Deal, Nathan , 9th
Isakson, Johnny , 6th
Kingston, Jack , 1st
Lewis, John , 5th
Linder, John , 11th
McKinney, Cynthia , 4th
Norwood, Charlie , 10th .

No district number is listed for the Senate in Washington because every person in each state has the same two. In Georgia they are Zell Miller and Max Cleland.

SENATE – this designates your State Senator. There are 56 State Senators in the State of Georgia. Find out who they are by clicking on the following link if you're connected to the internet. Georgia Senators Information.

HOUSE – this designates your State Representative. There are 180 State Representatives in the Georgia House. Georgia House Members Information.

COMM – this designates your county commissioner.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A VOTER REGISTRATION CARD OR CAN NOT FIND YOURS, you can find out which districts you are in and who represents you by calling Voter Registration in your phone book’s blue pages under your county’s listing or check out our link "Find Your Legislator".

You can view pending legislation, check for scheduled meetings, and learn about your State Representative or Senator through the Official Georgia Website government link at http://www.georgia.gov/00/channel/0,2141,4802_4973,00.html.

You can send your state legislators an e-mail by entering the first initial of their first name followed by the first seven initials of their last name @legis.state.ga.us. For example, Representative Jack West’s address is jwest@legis.state.ga.us.

You may also contact your State Representative at 404-656-5082, or your State Senator at 404-656-0028; or, write them c/o the State Capitol, Atlanta, GA 30334.
